Right Billionaire, Wrong Wedding (Sexy Billionaires) Page 12

Her gasp when he stroked her slit was gratifying. “Quiet, angel,” he reminded her, rubbing his thumb over her clit.

“Don’t want the whole office knowing we’re being naughty,” she agreed.

With a grin, he slid one long finger into her.

She bit her lip to contain whatever sound she obviously struggled to keep silent. Instead, she fisted his shirt as she rocked her hips against his hand.

“Good?” he asked, enjoying the pleasure in her expression.

  “Keep going,” she breathed.

It was an easy order to obey. His gaze locked on her face as he played with her. Her cheeks were flushed, eyes closed as she let her head fall back.

“More,” she said, grinding herself onto his hand.

“Oh, I’ll give you more,” he promised before taking a step back.

She collapsed back across his desk with a frustrated moan.

“You’re going to get a paper weight imprint in your back,” he said, reaching for the wallet in his briefcase.

“Hurry up and get back here,” she replied, twining her arms over her head.

Darian grabbed the condom from his wallet before allowing himself a few seconds to watch her spread across his desk. Had he ever seen such an erotic sight?

And for the moment she was all his.

“Hurry,” she said when he stepped back to her. She pushed herself back up, cupping his face as she guided his lips back to hers.

“You don’t have to tell me twice,” he said, rolling the condom onto his cock.

Gripping her legs, he spread them wider.

Allison leaned back on her elbows, watching him.

  “Ready?” he asked, positioning himself.

  She snorted. “All damn day.”

He thrust into her without any more urging.

A whimper escaped her as she threw back her head. “Yes,” she hissed.

He sank into her heat, nearly cross-eyed at the pleasure such a simple action brought. As he withdrew she reached up to wrap her arms around his neck. One leg locked around his hips, pulling him deeper into her. Again and again he delved into her, muffling his harsh breathing against the crook of her neck.

Using him for leverage, she rocked against his body, writhing to meet each thrust.

Desperation was quick to take over, and he ground her back against the desk. But Allison didn’t have a word of complaint. Instead she filled his ears with whispered pleas for more. They moved together, both straining for release.

  “Almost,” she breathed. “So close.”

  “Let go,” he commanded.

Her teeth scraped against his shoulder as her movements grew more frantic. Clenching his jaw, he held back his own release until he was assured of hers.

And when it came it was a beautiful thing to witness.

A moan she couldn’t quite stop escaped her as her orgasm crashed through her body. He caught her lips with his, swallowing the sounds she couldn’t quiet. Her body stiffened in his arms as pleasure surged through her.

Unable to hold himself back, he thrust into her with wild need. His own release rushed over him, filling him with mind-numbing ecstasy. He gripped her tightly as his body rode the waves of his orgasm. Nothing mattered but the pleasure pumping through his veins. All he could do was pray the sensations never ended.

  But they always did.

Allison slumped weakly against his chest. “Wow,” she said.

“This is how my desk should always be used. I’ve been missing out.”

She nipped at his shoulder. “We are not repeating this.”

“Really? Because I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out there are some very comfy couches on the other side of the room that we could christen.”

With a laugh, she pushed him back. “I’ve no desire to become the center of office gossip.”

“Fine.” He leaned down to kiss her. “But if you are ever feeling bored at work again, feel free to drop by. My door is always open.”

She pushed herself off the desk, wobbling slightly, as if her legs weren’t quite ready to support her. He grinned at the sight.

As she straightened her appearance, he tucked himself back into his pants and tried to set his clothing to rights.

“Did you have to shred my stockings beyond repair?” she asked, holding up a forlorn scrap of nylon.

“Yes,” he replied with masculine satisfaction.

She rolled her eyes and tossed the scrap into the trash. Grabbing her long curls, she started deftly twisting them back up into her usual bun.

As she turned back into his ever dependable assistant, he mourned the loss of seeing her draped over his desk. It wasn’t a sight he’d soon forget.

“Am I still going to see you later tonight?” she asked.

“Wouldn’t miss it.” Had he ever experienced this insatiable need for anyone else? It was as frustrating as it was exhilarating. He never stopped wanting her, thinking about her. Allison was quickly becoming the center of his days and it wasn’t a prospect he was wholly comfortable with.

But while logic might demand he put some distance between them, some things just felt too good to stop. He’d spent most of his adult life chained to this office. Perhaps Ali was his reward.

  “Have dinner with me.”

Her brows rose in surprise. “What?”

“Dinner. A quaint social custom in which two people partake of sustenance while enjoying one another’s company.”

She sighed. “Yes, I do understand the concept.”

“Then say yes. Let me take you out before we go to your place.”

“Sounds like a date,” she said as she pulled on her blazer.

Yes, it did. “You could call it that.”

“Do friends with benefits have dates?”

“We can make whatever rules we want for our relationship.”

Her gaze shot to his. “Relationship?”

A touch of ice slid down his spine. “You know what I mean. Do you want to go or not?”

There was a beat of silence before she nodded.

“Good,” he said, trying not to examine his desire to spend more time in her company too deeply. “I’ll make reservations and pick you up at seven o’clock?”

“Perfect.” Reaching up, she pressed a light kiss to his cheek. “I’m looking forward to it.” Then, with a last caress of her fingers, she was gone.

He dropped back into his chair, eying the pens and papers lying on the floor. He was acting out of character. Making impulsive decisions. Indulging in emotions he’d thought he’d left behind a long time ago.

  All because of one woman.

He should be careful. For his peace of mind he needed to avoid increasing the intimacy they already shared. After all, the last thing he needed was for Allison to misconstrue his actions. To think there was more between them than there was. She was the one person he wouldn’t survive hurting.

But despite what logic and reason dictated, he couldn’t seem to gather the will to distance himself from her. He wanted to spend every hour by her side. Certainly a curious desire for a man like him.

Even knowing he was getting himself in deeper than he should, he was powerless to stop. Some things were worth the risk, and he rather suspected that was a category Allison fell into perfectly.

  Chapter Eleven

“He’ll be here in a minute,” Allison said into her cell.

“Just breathe,” Gillian’s amused voice rose from the speaker. “I still can’t believe you threw caution to the wind and had kinky sex in the office.”

  “Not kinky,” she snapped.

“Whatever. I’m just happy you’re breaking out of your shell. Granted, you’re using a sledge hammer, but still.”

“You’re not being helpful.” She turned back and forth before the full length mirror in her bedroom, examining every inch of her outfit.

“You ignore me when I’m helpful.”

  “I put the dress on, didn’t I?”

  Gillian let
out a blissful sigh. “That was the best present I ever gave you.”

  “It’s too tight.”

  “It’s not.”

  “It’s too short.”

“It isn’t. It’s sexy as hell on you. Besides, it’s not my fault you never took it out of the closet for a spin. I’m just glad you finally came to your senses and put it on.”

Allison ran a hand over her hip. She definitely looked…different. Thanks to a heaping amount of magical products she’d put into her curls, they actually had a decent bounce to them. Her makeup was a touch more dramatic than her usual neutral-day regime, and the dress…

The dress made her feel like a temptress.

Though it was sophisticated enough that she hadn’t given back the present, it was definitely a far cry from her usual clothing that helped hide her curves rather than put them on display.

There was no hiding in this dress.

“Not only does that dress make you look sinfully curvy, it makes your legs look longer,” Gillian’s voice said. “You can thank me tomorrow after Darian has spent the evening panting over you.”

There was no stopping her smile. She quite liked the idea of her controlled boss panting over her.

“Besides, it’s kind of like a first date, right? The object is to knock his socks off.”

Gillian wasn’t wrong. Her invitation to their last dinner had been because of work, and ever since then, when Darian showed up on her doorstep, it didn’t take them long to get to the bedroom.

This was the first time since they started their sexual relationship that Allison could spend time with him as neither his assistant nor his booty call.

She could simply be a woman.

“All right, I’ll wear the dress,” she said.

A muffled cheer rose from the phone. “I demand details as soon as you kick him out tonight. And remember, you’re mine tomorrow.”

Shaking her head, she reached for her clutch. “I very much doubt I’ll make it.”

  “Think you’ll have another date?”

She paused. “I don’t know.” Would one date lead to another or was this just an offer made while endorphins were rushing through Darian’s brain?

Might he want more than just a sexual relationship with her?

Her heartbeat kicked up a notch at the thought. It shouldn’t make her so happy to think about and yet, there was no denying the pleasure coursing through her at the idea they could be more than just partners in bed.

“I’m heading out now. Thanks for the pep talk.”

“What are friends for? Have fun tonight, and remember, details!”

She disconnected the call with a smile. Time to go meet her man.

As if conjured by her thoughts, the doorbell rang.

Dashing from her room, she smoothed a nervous hand down her dress. She was as ready as she’d ever be.

“Hello,” Darian greeted when she opened the door.

She caught her breath. As always, he was impeccable in his tailored suit. This time, however, he’d chosen to wear all black. The only color on him was the blue of his scarf. While the dark shade might have overpowered a lesser man, Darian appeared even more commanding than usual. She had no doubt he would turn every female head when they walked into the restaurant.

A thrill raced through her at the knowledge that, for tonight at least, he was hers.

“Hi,” she replied, clutching the door.

His eyes swept over her. “You look amazing.” Reaching beside the door, she grabbed her coat and purse from the waiting hooks.

“All ready?” he asked as she pulled the door shut behind her.

“I think I’ve got everything.” She peered up at him to see him watching her with equal parts amusement and hunger.

  “What?” she asked.

  “I’ve been careless.”

  “How so?”

“That wasn’t a proper greeting at all.” Not giving her a chance to protest, he crowded her up against the door before his lips descended onto hers.

Allison melted into his arms, more than willing to follow his lead. Her hands slid over his shoulders to pull him closer. He kissed her as if they hadn’t seen each other in ages, instead of the few hours it’d been since their last encounter in his office. When he touched her this way she was tempted to forgo the dinner she’d been looking forward to and simply invite him in. Thai takeout in bed sounded like a worthy substitute, right?

With a last brush of his lips over hers, he pulled back. “Now that,” he said, “was a hello.”

“You have my whole-hearted agreement. Good thing I invested in some kiss-proof lipstick.”

His eyes dropped to her mouth. “That sounds like a challenge.”

With a laugh, she pushed him away. “Food first. I’m starving.”

“All right, angel. Food first. I made reservations at a little Italian place I love. Come on.” He took her hand, leading her back toward the elevator.

As she followed him she tried not to think too hard about the endearment that had fallen so easily from his lips.

Or how just hearing it sent the butterflies in her stomach into a whirlwind.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Allison was thankful for the first time that Gillian had insisted on buying her the black dress. Wearing it, she almost looked like she belonged here. Together they walked through the doors of the elegant restaurant that was officially priced out of her usual dining experiences. Glancing at the chic clientele already in their seats, she wondered if they could somehow sense she wasn’t part of their world.

Darian strode forward unperturbed, and she supposed evenings out at a restaurant in which the interior was a work of art was the norm for him. He shook hands with the maître d’, asking how he’d been. She waited while the two exchanged a few words. It was obvious Darian was a regular at this spot.

“Let me show you to your table,” the maître d’ said. “I’ll have your usual wine sent over at once.”

  “Thank you, Antonio.”

Trying not to feel like Cinderella, she followed Darian to their table. She slid into the chair held out for her and tried not to wince when she sat too early and their guide let out a little huff as he pushed her to the table.

“Here are your menus,” Antonio said, holding one out to her first. “Your server will be right over.”

“Thank you,” Darian said, his eyes already on his menu.

Opening her own, she tried to concentrate on the words before her, but it proved an impossible task. The combination of their surroundings and her lover’s proximity had her mind on anything but food.

“I thought you were hungry,” he said.

She turned toward him to see his eyes on hers. “Yes, yes I am,” she agreed, glancing back at the offerings. “What do you recommend?”

He grinned as he picked up his own menu. After perusing it for a moment, he looked up with a wink. “Me.”

A surprised laugh escaped her. “Darian,” she chided.

“That’s better,” he replied, setting down the menu. “This is supposed to be fun, Ali. Breathe.”

She returned his smile, knowing that as good as this restaurant no doubt was, it didn’t have what she wanted most on the menu. When their waiter came, she picked at random from the pasta list.

Once their menus were cleared away and their wine poured, Darian leaned forward on the table. “You really do look beautiful tonight,” he told her. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so…”

  “Put together?” she teased.

  “Breathtaking,” he replied.

Her eyes shot to his. In the four years they’d worked together, he’d never stared at her the way he was now. The expression on his face made her forget the leggy models and gorgeous actresses of his past. They weren’t here right now. Tonight, he had eyes for her alone and she was woman enough to revel in the moment.

“I clean up well when I put the effort in,” she said, taking a sip of wine. “Until recently, you only knew the office ver
sion of me.”

“It’s true,” he agreed. “Which makes you rather fascinating.”

  That made her smile. “Why?”

“Because I thought I knew everything about you, and here I learn I’ve barely scratched the surface.” He twirled his glass of wine. “Tell me something I don’t know about you.”

“Sharing confidences? I may be new to the casual sex game, but even I know this crosses lines.”

He was silent a moment. “You’re not interested in crossing lines with me?”

If only he knew. She’d cross every line he wanted if it would win her more time with him.

“What would you like to know?”

He leaned back, a smile on his lips. “Tell me about your life before you wound up on my doorstep.”

“I’m not an abandoned puppy.” She shook her head. “Before King Enterprises I was at home. My parents live out east in a small town.”

“Ah, yes. The infamous Mr. and Mrs. Reed. You rarely mention them.”

“There’s not much to tell. They didn’t approve of me moving across the country.”

“You must not visit them much,” he said, frowning. “I can’t remember the last time you took a sick day, let alone a vacation.”

“Working for you is a twenty-four-seven kind of job, Darian.”

His frown deepened. “I’ve been keeping you away from your family?”

Family, home, socializing. Her devotion to him had kept her away from everything.

But then again, all he’d done was ask. It was her fault she never refused him anything.

She reached for her wine. “I go back at Christmas. Once a year is really all the Reed clan can handle. My sisters are a bit of a whirlwind.”

“You should invite them to the city. I could take them out to dinner and turn on the charm. They’d see you have a good life here.”

That brought a smile to her lips. “Do you make that offer to all your employees?”

His gaze flicked to her. “No. But you’re not exactly a normal employee, are you?”

“The longer we’re together, the less I understand what I am.”

There was a pause before he reached out for her hand. Long fingers thread between hers. “You’re important,” he said, his voice low. “Do we need to define it more than that?”
